History: Burgell was born the youngest of three triplets. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Her partner is her best friend in the world. The two are very close despite being more or less each other's opposites. She is obsessed with finding treasure.

History: Born to a poor family in the city she treasured whatever gifts she got. While studying, she fell in love. They married and had a son. Some 9 years later her spouse died after the birth of her son. Heartbroken, Jacoba never married again. Instead she focused her life to raising her son whom she trained as her father had trained her before.
