Personality: She hates illithids. She views them as having robbed her home of its proper glory. The war was a terrible time for her, and Helja does not often speak of it. When she does, she does so with a strained expression and tears in her eyes.

History: She was born several months after her mother was called into army service. She was taken from her home at a very young age. Some 5 years later her spouse died after the birth of her son. Heartbroken, Helja never married again. Instead she focused her life to raising her son whom she trained as her mother had trained her before.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Through the years after Rangrim was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south.
