However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the giants.

History: She was born in the north, but her parents moved at a very young age to the west. Her homeland was ravaged by war and she spent much of her life rebuilding it. By chance she met her sister recently and the two have been together since.

Motivation: Someone believes her a fraud; and she wants revenge against dire rats

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. He has never given up on his music dream.

Motivation: He possesses a valuable artifact that the thieves guild wishes to steal; and he is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions
