History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. At a young age his father died while driving off some giants. His mother being the stubborn sort decided to stay and helped train him in whip use. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: Many giants want him driven away; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by giants, and he desires to right it
