History: She was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. Because her father participated in the massacre of their homeland, illithids burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. She was preparing to flee to the west, but the outbreak of war prevented her and her mother from journeying west to reunite her family. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by illithids. Bryseis was horrified and prayed that her mother was alright. However, she heard that her mother had died fighting off the illithids.

History: Gifted from a young age, Gorfel studied abroad. Gorfel was a troubled youth. He spent his days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent his evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Gorfel decided he wanted neither the life of his mother nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with. During his early adolescence, he took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned.
