History: Baern was born in the south. At a young age he loved to build and create. Baern was born on a far southern plains where he grew up under the tutelage of his mother, an expert Fortune-teller. He left for the south, certain he would find work there.

History: A powerful wizard made her what she is. She was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. Her spouse died of illness and she inherited everything. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: She made a deal with a demon which lead to her current lot in life, and she's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and she has money and likes to spend it
