History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Mehen was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. He left for the south, certain he would find work there.

Her chestnut hair is greying along the sides and has receded to reveal a widow's peak. She was beautiful and young once, which still shows through her age, but it is a faded beauty.

Personality: Cocky and sure of herself, she believes she is the best Barrister born in the past three hundred years. She has a cruel streak; something she gained from her previous mentor. She harbors resentment against her former mentor.

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her mother always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. A gifted student she started as a Bricklayer, but she got bored and became a Barrister. She has achieved small success as a Barrister.

Motivation: She is unsatisfied with her job.

History: He was born at the edge of vast desert. His father took him hunting and taught him how to get in the mind of other creatures. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

Motivation: His relatives are trying to arrange a marriage.

Description: This woman wears skinny pants and wears a blue and pastel robe with the hood down, and sports empty pouches on her belt. Her hair is cut close to her head. Her eyes are amber and beady.

Personality: She is fixated on the number 4. She counts her steps and bites of food to keep in track with it. She seems to be used to being ignored and not questioned about it. Zanna enjoys physical pleasures, and is well known for her love of warm baths in the hot springs near the town.

History: Born in the south her family was never financially stable. When money was particularly tight she was walking through alleys when she overheard a Scribe hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. She is untrained/undisciplined, which makes her dangerous.

Motivation: She is not mentally stable, and does not behave rationally; and retire the richest woman in the south
