History: Bertram hails from a village terrorized by drow. His father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his father was legitimate. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Ruler for hire.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by drow, and he desires to right it; and wants to open a new tavern

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. He found a children's book about a Halfling Fighter who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.
