Because his mother participated in the massacre of their homeland, brigands burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the east, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his father from journeying east to reunite his family. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

History: A powerful wizard made her what she is. A serious injury left her mother unemployed and in need of constant care. Her family became saddled with debt trying to care for her infirm mother. She leaves a trail of broken hearts and full pockets wherever she goes.

Motivation: She made a deal with a demon which lead to her current lot in life, and she's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and she feels the way she acts is they only way to get by in the world

Personality: He is a melancholic, but persistent worker. He resents family life and as such spurns the advances of admirers. He has a minor phobia of water and hates getting wet.

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Vondal was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

He worked as a nervous Shipwright and found it very stressful. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.
