History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. As a young child he wandered into the woods despite his father's warnings against it. Afterwards he claimed he had encountered dire rats who tried to eat his hand. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by dire rats. Cloak was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the dire rats.

In his 17th year, his parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Roland alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

History: When she was but 8 years old her parents immigrated from the east. Vanchu was born on a far eastern mountains where she grew up under the tutelage of her father, an expert Actor. She has set out to sabotage the competition.
