History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Naal was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. Naal was born on a far northern island where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Bookbinder. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: To find somewhere to settle down; and obtaining odd cultural halfling artifacts is his passion
