History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He married young, but lost his spouse to dire rats. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. His mother worked until he suffered an accident while they were digging through a hill for a new route. He had to support his now crippled mother and took his mother's old job. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a daughter. History: Born in the west to a Brewer, Tervaround learned a great deal about her father's area of expertise. As a young adult she joined a group advocating for an improvement in Gnomish conditions. She has set out to sabotage the competition.
