She did not win them back, but she came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. She has became unsatisfied with her lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.

History: Osco was raised in a hard working conservative environment. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Osco grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Osco. He used his abilities to trick people and travel the world for free.
