History: She was raised happily, as a normal child born to her mother and father. Her mother taught her the rudiments of the Shepherd arts, while her father instructed her in etiquette, music and courtly manner. As a very small child her family refused to pay dues to a local crime lord, who ordered them killed. Her father, a somewhat powerful mage sought to protect her and cast a teleportation spell that whisked her away. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. His mother took him hunting and taught him how to get in the mind of other creatures. Recently a tribe of drow attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Ortegar fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.
