History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his father. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

History: She is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. She was an adventurer many years ago and she formed a blood bond with her Tabaxi companion (her 'brother'). She has drifted apart from her friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature sword.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark.

Personality: He tends to agree with only himself unless someone else's opinion sounds like he can profit from it. He tries to control his temper but he can't always stop himself from what he feels what must be done. He disdains his fellow northerners, claiming they make him look unintelligent just for using an accent.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Miller work with an outfit from a few towns over. Miller work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. He now owns his own business.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Miller and was forced into it by his family; and regain custody of his daughter

History: Trained by his mother for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. When Cory reached his early adolescence his Human mother passed away. Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, he decided to travel. His rounds led him into the Army with a few individuals who would become his life-long companions. Now he works as a music tutor during his time off.

Motivation: He is terrified, and will act out of fear; and he wants nothing more than to rejoin the army

Personality: She is quite rude, and likes to deride her opponents skill and shout insults at them. As she has aged she has sought to do reparations for her actions as a youth. She is also making sure that her compatriots who never received punishment for their crimes are brought to justice.

History: Her parents moved while she was still in utero so she is the first generation to be born here. A few years later when the west was not economically sound they moved to her current location. She guards a vault combo very seriously as well as the key needed to open it.

Motivation: To reunite with her absent father; and she has decided she is irredeemable
