He was a general practitioner in the east for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way south. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

History: Caeldrim lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. At some point he was captured by dire rats and was tortured. After several years of this he finally managed to escape. He has been saving his money to try and buy his brother's freedom.

Motivation: Revenge; and doesn't want to be a carter and was forced into it by his family

History: Wrenn lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to him frivolously. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Personality: Her tongue was cut out and she uses sign language. She also is a firm believer in the womanly ideal.

History: Born to a poor family in the city she treasured whatever gifts she got. In her formative years she discovered how persuasive she was. She began using that to her advantage selling useless wares at inflated prices. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: To prove her worth to the world; and she's looking for her big break

Her half smiles and hazel eyes are beguiling and draw you in.

Personality: She has schizophrenia that causes her to hear things that aren't there and will sometimes respond to them. She is cautious and jumpy. She reacts to every sound and lacks any concept of subtlety.

History: Born to a Shoemaker, her father struggled to pay the bills. At a young age she wooed the heart of her future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. Some 2 years later her spouse died after the birth of her daughter. Heartbroken, Five never married again. Instead she focused her life to raising her daughter whom she trained as her father had trained her before.

Motivation: She is terrified, and will act out of fear; and she feels threatened by others
