Because his father participated in the massacre of their homeland, dire rats burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the east, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his mother from journeying east to reunite his family. He left for the east, certain he would find work there.

History: Born to a Mason, her father struggled to pay the bills. When she came of age, she joined a caravan that would eventually take her to the capital. She would practice along the way and, when she arrived, be apprenticed to a Performer. She became a Performer soon after.
