History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. A serious injury left his father unemployed and in need of constant care. His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm father. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by giants. Balam was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the giants.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by giants, and he desires to right it; and he made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it

History: A child with a great deal of painting talent his parents made sure he got the chance to thrive. Through the years after Qualen was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Qualen's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

History: Althaea was born into a poor family. Growing up, she dreamt of becoming a Paladin, to bring honor to her family’s name. When she came of age, she applied for a position with her town's local guard, looking to work her way up via merit and eventually become a Paladin in service of a powerful lord somewhere. She was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost.
