History: She was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. Through the years after Sarah was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Sarah's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

Personality: Laucian speaks confidently about a variety of topics with grace. He is clearly well-traveled and educated. He will pursue extreme courses of action in the short term, confident that they cannot fail.

History: A powerful brothel owner made him what he is. His parents were killed by gnolls in a raid when he was still a young child. The gnolls captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by gnolls, and he desires to right it; and a deep hatred of gnolls

Personality: She takes her job very seriously, in part because she fears she cannot get a new one. She is cautious and jumpy. She reacts to every sound and lacks any concept of subtlety.

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her mother always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. She inherited a moderately successful company from her mother. Under her leadership it has flourished, and using capital from her venture she effectively owns an entire region. She became a plane-shifter, and is stopping over on this plane for a brief visit.

Motivation: Wants to open a new tavern; and a need for knowledge about a nearby landmark

History: She was born on a small isolated farm. Her parents divorced when she was young, and her mother gained full cudstody. She was regularly beaten by her mother, who blamed her for driving them apart. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.
