History: She was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. A freak accident while working with her Doctor mother left her crippled. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign.
