He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

History: When he was but 5 years old his parents immigrated from the east. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He tends to his Seamstress job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.

History: Her mother raised her in a mountain cabin. A few years later when the north was not economically sound they moved to her current location. By chance she met her brother recently and the two have been together since.

History: She grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. She dropped out of school before completing her studies. She has set out to sabotage the competition.
