History: She was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of her parents. While studying, she fell in love. They married and had a son. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Wishes to resurrect an old love.

History: Gifted from a young age, Alex studied abroad. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The father sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his father's willingness to do anything to win. He has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

History: When she was but 5 years old her parents immigrated from the north. Being born in the north, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the north for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way west. She has been saving her money to try and buy her sister's freedom.
