History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. His father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He was granted martial powers by his dying brother.

Personality: A skeptical and narcissistic woman, Eggren's first love is herself. Her second love is also herself. She does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of dire rats may trigger it at times.

History: She was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. At a young age both her parents were killed in an accident. Her uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took her in and had her trained in basic self defense. She has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

Personality: A rambunctious noisy drunk he knows how to make people feel guilty. He receives visions of the future at random moments

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Half-Elves in the east were limited. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Her respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to her, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, she tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in her reactions to snap at those who irritate her, Emma is combative with any and all who dare try her patience in the slightest.

History: Her father raised her in a mountain cabin. Her mother took her hunting and taught her how to get in the mind of other creatures. Unlike her family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, she wanted to work in the city. She has been working here for the past few years.

Personality: Zepar hangs on like a leech to those who appreciate him. It was this clingy personality that held back his singing career. His brief stint in the army gave him the idea he was invincible and that he is the toughest man alive.

History: Born in the north to a Fortune-teller, Zepar learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. His father was a soldier and died while he was still young. Zepar was left his father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Fortune-teller and was forced into it by his family; and he wants nothing more than to rejoin the army
