Personality: Shava is a sociable creature first and foremost. She loves to listen to people at length before talking their ear off. She can carry on conversation for hours and will do so. Her philosophy is that everyone needs a friend and as such shows hospitality towards all.

History: She was born to a criminal king-pin and mafia family Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Shava grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Shava. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. Cursed with unlife at a very young age, Laucian has worked very hard to control his curse. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: Jade lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He dropped out of school to support his sick mother, and resented it. He now owns his own business.
