Personality: Her tongue was cut out and she uses sign language. She moves from fascination to fascination almost instantaneously. If something can keep her interest for a month it is impressive.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when goblins swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. In her 17th year, her parents were killed by a goblins raid, leaving Eran alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to goblins demanding more tribute than usual.

Personality: He does not believe in betrayal or weakness as things to be tolerated. Barendd is a bit of a follower. Usually he is manipulated by his brothers into helping them out, but recently he has become more of a free agent.

History: He was born in the north, but his parents moved at a very young age to the east. Like his father and his brother before him, after school he went straight into learning to become a Ploughman. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Ploughman responsibilities is difficult; and wants to open a new tavern

Personality: Eccentric and domineering, Spring will drive conversation. She is a logical person and will generally grow upset if things defy logic and science.

History: She was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. She dropped out of school before completing her studies. Unlike her family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, she wanted to work in the city. She has been working here for the past few years.

Motivation: To find somewhere to settle down; and she is content

Description: He is an average looking northern male in his early mid-life. He wears tattered old clothes. With bright brown hair and a scraggly beard. His eyes are brown and beady.

Personality: He is a melancholic, but persistent worker. He resents family life and as such spurns the advances of admirers. He spends most of his days drinking in the Inn, the rowdiest and most dangerous establishment in town. There he gambles, wrestles and listens to stories told by travelers.

History: He comes from a rich northern family. A gifted student he started as a Navigator, but he got bored and became a Cook. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Cook responsibilities is difficult; and expand his business
