He prefers to carry a spear, but if one is not available he will default to his shortbow, and he perpetually has his shortbow ready. Personality: He can speak with the recently deceased. His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in his reactions to snap at those who irritate him, Qualen is combative with any and all who dare try his patience in the slightest.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Personality: He is highly sensitive about his name. He loathes it, but will not take any guff about it from anyone. On top of that he is swayed by a pretty face, and while loyalty to his employer will always come first he doesn't like to hit women.

History: When he was but 4 years old his parents immigrated from the south. He was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

Motivation: He's attracted to the PC; and he has a crush on the local junk dealer

Personality: She acts crazy and hedonistic. She has a cruel streak; something she gained from her previous mentor. She harbors resentment against her former mentor.

History: Born in the west to a Engraver, Symma learned a great deal about her mother's area of expertise. When she came of age, she joined a caravan that would eventually take her to the capital. She would practice along the way and, when she arrived, be apprenticed to a Engraver. After a long history of fighting, Symma and her spouse have recently divorced.

Personality: He is mildly Halfling supremacist, though he does not identify as such. He loves being with his children and actually smiles when they are around. He would do anything for them. He dislikes his ex a great deal.

History: The child of western immigrants he idolized his mother. A few years later when the south was not economically sound they moved to his current location. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: His spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion.
