History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Veloptima was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Gnomes in Veloptima's homeland. Veloptima decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. History: He was born in a small mountains village. A gifted student he started as a Spice Merchant, but he got bored and became a Shepherd. He has achieved small success as a Shepherd.

History: Mozikth lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature shield.
