History: He was raised by priests from a young age. In his 18th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Varis alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it; and he wants revenge against illithids

Personality: He is extraordinarily eccentric. His home and work are filled with various knick knacks he has acquired through the years. He cares a great deal for his adopted teenage daughter.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious eastern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. Being born in the east, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the east for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Cook they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. He worked as a Stylist, and he later adopted a second daughter.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and to unite with his brother

Personality: She loves justice and goodness and right action. Anyone who does not fulfill this criteria perfectly will no doubt get a lecture from her. She is the most sanctimonious self-righteous Elf in existence. She misses her home and complains about the freezing weather, even in summer.

History: Faral was born to in a poor docking district. She spent her early days working in the same smith shop her father was employed at, doing general labor. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Elves in Faral's homeland. Faral decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. She left for the north, certain she would find work there.

Motivation: To reunite with her old friends.

Description: This petite short woman is perpetually holding a tea of some kind. She usually wears her grey robe and has her shortbow always slung over her shoulder, marred by teas. She wears her red hair up in a very large beehive style do. She has several tiny opal earrings on each ear.

Personality: She trusts no one. She is not readily capable for forgiveness and her ire never leaves her. When she's not drinking or sleeping the drinks off, she's doing writing.

History: A studious child she never was much for a social life, not because she was unlikable, but because she did not seek it out. Ostracized due to the arcane powers of her oldest sister, she and her siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Humans became a terror of the countryside. She has never given up on her writing dream.
