Personality: He will use flattery and sarcasm to attack and weaken his opponents. Despite his formidable combat skills he remains a coward. He is afraid of women and trembles around them

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. His father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his father was legitimate. He now spends his time doing works of charity.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and he is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs

Description: This woman is bedraggled and starved. She is wearing the road beaten gear of a warrior. Her long red fur is drawn into a two foot long braid. Her amber eyes are slightly larger than normal.

Personality: Cocky and sure of herself, she believes she is the best Carter born in the past three hundred years. She is fiercely devoted to her father, and views her father's ex-spouse as an evil person for separating her from her legal half-brother.

History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. She graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. She advanced relatively quickly due to her good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. Due to her spouse's obsession with being a Dyer they were divorced and she won custody of their son. She worked as a Carter, and she later adopted a second son.

Motivation: To reunite with her absent father; and find a way to reverse the transformation of her brother

Description: Runty and weak-looking, she wears an entirely tan suit with violet socks and a vest with buckled shoes. Her head has been shaved. She has a very pronounced jaw and large eyebrows. She wears rectangular glasses with silver brims.

Personality: Lorilla wants to be seen as a stoic, levelheaded, noble Ranger, so she tries to act the part. She does a good job, for the most part... Her temper goes off on the smallest of things. She tends to lash out at those around her.

History: Lorilla hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. When money was particularly tight she was walking through alleys when she overheard a Carter hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: Someone believes her a fraud; and many dire rats want her driven away

Description: This malnourished man dresses in black turtlenecks beneath a brown coat with red slacks. He wears a wide-brimmed hat to cover his moderate length white hair. He is missing an eye and his face is severely sunburned. His one remaining eye shines white.

Personality: He runs his personal life as if detached from it. He organizes appointments and outings based on perceived benefits he will get from it. He is accommodating to his spouse and as such limits his hospitality. He is brave and levelheaded in the face of danger and has proven himself a capable leader.

History: He was born at the edge of vast desert. He was a friend to animals and a trickster. In his defense of animals however he would do severe harm to people. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Wishes to resurrect an old love; and he will attempt to ambush and attack anyone he thinks he can take on alone and try to knock them out with non-lethal damage. if successful, he will try to sell them to his slave-trader contact
