History: When she was but 8 years old her parents immigrated from the west. Anakis liked to wander the woods near her home when she was young, something she still likes to do at least once a week. She never liked modest clothing or shoes, so she would wander the woods barefoot and lightly dressed, and she developed a good sense of balance and learned how to climb and swim well. She left for the west, certain she would find work there.

History: Ranala lived on a farm with her father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. A serious injury left her father unemployed and in need of constant care. Her family became saddled with debt trying to care for her infirm father. Some 10 years later her spouse died after the birth of her daughter. Heartbroken, Ranala never married again.
