History: Rathkran was born the youngest of three triplets. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Engraver they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Navigator, and he later adopted a second son.

Personality: She takes her job very seriously, in part because she fears she cannot get a new one. The war was a terrible time for her, and Quelenna does not often speak of it. When she does, she does so with a strained expression and tears in her eyes.

History: She was born in the south. Quelenna was born on a far southern island where she grew up under the tutelage of her father, an expert Bookbinder. She inherited the family business which she has now maintained for 3 years.

Her partner is her best friend in the world. The two are very close despite being more or less each other's opposites. She does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of brigands may trigger it at times.

History: She was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of her parents. She worked as a nervous Miller and found it very stressful. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

History: A powerful slaver made him what he is. The family's rival house kidnapped his sister with the intent that his sister marry their son to gain control of contested properties. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
