Personality: She can speak with the dead, and doesn't see much difference between the living and dead. She is accommodating to her spouse and as such limits her hospitality. She is brave and levelheaded in the face of danger and has proven herself a capable leader.

History: Gifted from a young age, Grai studied abroad. Her family was turned out during the war. She and her family wandered south to less war torn lands. Unlike her family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, she wanted to work in the city. She has been working here for the past few years.

Motivation: Her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and she desires to right it; and to end her boredom

Description: This man is moderately tanned and has just the faintest trace of an accent. He wears silk and lounges about seductively. His long red crest is drawn into a two foot long braid. He has gold eyes and a green hat with a violet feather.

Personality: He is irascible and easily irritated. He has no love for corruption and racketeering and views those as crimes of the highest magnitude.

History: When he was but 8 years old his parents immigrated from the west. Kerkad was born on a far western desert where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Fortune-teller. He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.

Description: A man with thick toned arms and a paunchy gut. He wears a weathered and beat up set of banded mail beneath an oversized black coat. His golden hair is greying along the sides and has receded to reveal a widow's peak. He has a very pronounced jaw and large eyebrows. He wears rectangular glasses with silver brims.

Personality: Stoic and calm, he prefers to meditate than take action. He believes the world needs to unite to get rid of brigands once and for all.

History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Flak was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.
