He was a general practitioner in the south for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Guard they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. He worked as a Layabout, and he later adopted a second daughter.

Personality: He is always cheerful, even with a hangover, and is always willing to go through all sorts of trouble to help his friends. He considers everything a fun event and doesn't hold grudges. He takes great pride in his work and is very well organized. His planner is full of calendar events.

History: Born in the west to a Barber, Barakas learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. He was an apprentice working in his mother's forge. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

History: She comes from a rich western family. While she appears to be a normal Human, she's... not quite right. Perhaps she's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that she plain doesn't fit in. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

Personality: She considers herself the protector of her home. She feels this is her duty and calling. She has a taste for the finer things and spends a great deal of money on luxuries, some more exotic than others.

History: Her mother raised her in a mountain cabin. There was a wharf not far from home where she often wandered off to fish. She is untrained/undisciplined, which makes her dangerous.
