Personality: She resents people who mock her appearance or her, so she has learned to be the meanest son of a gun. She never wears the same outfit twice, unless she absolutely has to.

History: Ranala was born in the north. At a young age she loved to build and create. Being born in the north, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the north for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way east. She has since lost track of the people in her past.

Personality: He is always cheerful, even with a hangover, and is always willing to go through all sorts of trouble to help his friends. He considers everything a fun event and doesn't hold grudges. He is a big fan of imagination and believes people should spend more time reading and writing.

History: He was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He is not mentally stable, and does not behave rationally; and he wants nothing more than to rejoin the army

Personality: He is irascible and easily irritated. He is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure he is not cheated out of a speck.

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Fortune-teller hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. His addictions have taken their toll on his wallet, and he has found himself with a great deal of debt owed.

Description: A woman of a pale complexion, she wears a white cloak and cross-gartered tan stockings. Her blonde hair is thinning but still full. Her skin is flawless and her blue eyes scan people very quickly.

Personality: She does not believe in betrayal or weakness as things to be tolerated. She is kind towards other women and children and will generally offer women help without question. Others will generally need to prove themselves to her.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Since her mother passed away years ago, her father had doted on her, and she came to think her herself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by her attractiveness, a trait in which she easily excels the other women of her town. She now spends her time doing works of charity.

Motivation: She has a rivalry with the Church that dominates her actions; and she is compelled to act according to her religious beliefs
