Personality: Bertram hangs on like a leech to those who appreciate him. It was this clingy personality that held back his writing career. He is a big fan of imagination and believes people should spend more time reading and writing.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. Before the accident, he was one of the most outspoken anti-Human activists. He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Human doctor. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

History: Xanaphia lived on a farm with her father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. In her youth she was part of a gang. She got caught, but did not rat out her comrades and served her time in prison. By chance she met her brother recently and the two have been together since.
