History: Hupe lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

Motivation: Her relatives are trying to arrange a marriage; and meet up once more with her childhood friend

Personality: She is a melancholic, but persistent worker. She resents family life and as such spurns the advances of admirers. She believes the world needs to unite to get rid of drow once and for all.

History: She comes from a rich eastern family. In her 17th year, her parents were killed by a drow raid, leaving Savaran alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to drow demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: She uses money and sex appeal to get what she needs; and someone believes her a fraud
