History: Rael hails from a village terrorized by illithids. Before the accident, he was one of the most outspoken anti-Gnomish activists. He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Gnomish doctor. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Rael was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the illithids.

Motivation: He is greedy; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it

History: His history is one of pain. He was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves his parents kept. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Tieflings in the south were limited. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.
