History: Roland lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. At a young age both his parents were killed in an accident. His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. History: Born in the west to a Mercenary, Abalaba learned a great deal about her father's area of expertise. She took after her father in leading caravans. Because they were valued, her father taught her to defend herself. When her father died while fighting dire rats, the young Abalaba began to lead the lost caravan. She has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

Motivation: Her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and she desires to right it; and balancing her hectic life and new mercenary responsibilities is difficult

History: She comes from a rich western family. Her parents enrolled her in a Ranger school at a young age so that she could practice her martial talents. She became a plane-shifter, and is stopping over on this plane for a brief visit.
