History: Trained by his father for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. In his 17th year, his parents were killed by a orcs raid, leaving Nirgel alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

History: She was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of her parents. She was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. Her spouse died of illness and she inherited everything. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.
