A freak accident while working with her Sellsword father left her crippled. During her travels, Siffress and her party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Siffress discovered the rest of her party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Siffress fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing her own horrible transformation.

Since her mother passed away years ago, her father had doted on her, and she came to think her herself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by her attractiveness, a trait in which she easily excels the other women of her town.
