History: Born to a Cartwright, his mother struggled to pay the bills. In his 11th year, his parents were killed by a drow raid, leaving Varis alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. He always admired druidic-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. He struck the Fortune-teller job and began his own company from there.
