History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. In his 10th year, his parents were killed by a drow raid, leaving Taklinn alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to drow demanding more tribute than usual.

She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. She's also a talented Bookbinder, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

History: Tana lived on a farm with her mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. She struck it rich when she found rare goods in large quantities. She has since lost track of the people in her past.
