Description: This man is unhealthily muscled, almost every single one of his veins is visible when he is not flexing. His shirts and pants tend to be short and undersized for him due to the difficulty of finding a good tailor. He has chestnut hair. His gray eyes are slightly larger than normal.

Personality: He is shy and timid. He has not had much interaction with people and is skittish around them. He is however nostalgic and wants to reunite with his old comrades. He has some compunction and patriotism and will work for the government before all other clients.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark.

Description: This younger middle-aged man tends to wear a large black jacket, and a wedding ring on his right hand. He has no hair. He is missing an eye and his face is severely sunburned. His one remaining eye shines red.

Personality: Balam is depressed about a lot of things. He tends to be a nihilist. He has a cruel streak; something he gained from his previous mentor. He harbors resentment against his former mentor.

History: Born in the east to a Bookbinder, Balam learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Bookbinder. He became a Bookbinder soon after.

Motivation: He loathes his own lifestyle; and wants to open a new tavern

Description: This man does not wear sleeves and tends to eschew shirts when he can avoid it. He is muscular with a powerful set of arms. His scarlet crest is still thick. His fair skin shows little sign of his aristocratic breeding.

Personality: A rambunctious noisy drunk he knows how to make people feel guilty. He has a taste for the finer things and spends a great deal of money on luxuries, some more exotic than others.

History: He was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He is untrained/undisciplined, which makes him dangerous.

Motivation: He loathes his own lifestyle.

Description: She is typically in her Dilettante uniform. Her crest is bronze and very short. She is very pretty but has cold, dead eyes.

Personality: She is a Dilettante first and foremost. She believes firmly that knowledge should be universal. She does not regard money as being a problem because it has never been a problem for her. She lives in a bit of an ivory tower believing all problems are one quick intervention away from being solved.

History: She was raised happily, as a normal child born to her father and mother. Her father taught her the rudiments of the Dilettante arts, while her mother instructed her in etiquette, music and courtly manner. A freak accident while working with her Guard father left her crippled. Recently she has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.

Motivation: To be a Guard again; and she has money and likes to spend it
