History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. He has had some formal music training, and achieved minor success. He's since become an addict/alcoholic.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious southern family, she was no stranger to responsibility. Her father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her father was legitimate. Some 6 years later her spouse died after the birth of her son. Heartbroken, Ekk never married again.
