History: Ortegar was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Warrior, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Warrior in service of a powerful lord somewhere. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

History: Burto hails from a village terrorized by illithids. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

She tries to control her temper but she can't always stop herself from what she feels what must be done. The war was a terrible time for her, and Sybil does not often speak of it. When she does, she does so with a strained expression and tears in her eyes.

History: The child of southern immigrants she idolized her father. She was an apprentice working in her father's forge. She now owns her own business.
