History: She was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of her parents. Her mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her mother was legitimate. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Personality: He swings through moods quickly. One moment he is cool and collected, the next he is carried away by passions. To his fellows he is seen as friendly and intelligent, but is angry and unforgiving to the so called fatcats and any who do and have associated with them.

History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. His mother was a soldier and died while he was still young. Nim was left his mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He has dedicated himself to building a better trade route.

Personality: She has schizophrenia that causes her to hear things that aren't there and will sometimes respond to them. She invented a lineage for herself and claims to be descended from several legendary heroes.

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her mother always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. Her parents divorced when she was young, and her mother gained full cudstody. She was regularly beaten by her mother, who blamed her for driving them apart. She has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Bookbinder. She hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.
