It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. She has done her darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

History: Gifted from a young age, Fulbar studied abroad. Brilliant and gifted he never wanted to apply himself. He used his abilities to travel the world and help people.

Motivation: He will attempt to ambush and attack anyone he thinks he can take on alone and try to knock them out with non-lethal damage. If successful, he will try to sell them to his slave-trader contact; and he feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help

Personality: He fancies himself a trickster and likes to rely on his wits to carry the day. He cares for his older siblings and likes to be recognized by them. He is a very good compulsive liar and kleptomaniac.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Grisha was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Grisha grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Grisha. By chance he met his sister recently and the two have been together since.

History: A studious child she never was much for a social life, not because she was unlikable, but because she did not seek it out. A freak accident while working with her Tanner father left her crippled. After a long history of fighting, Juliana and her spouse have recently divorced.
