History: She was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. Her mother disappeared, and while she tried to raise money to find her mother, she was betrayed dozens of times. She was granted psionic powers by her dying brother.

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Traki grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Traki. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
