History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: Her mother raised her in a mountain cabin. A gifted student she started as a Scribe, but she got bored and became a Server. She has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Scribe. She hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.

History: Kipper was born with his mother's beautiful face. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He became a Mortician soon after.
