History: Ortegar was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Expert, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Expert in service of a powerful lord somewhere. His parents enrolled him in a Expert school at a young age so that he could practice his martial talents. He now travels the world, in search of power and loot.

History: He was born to a criminal king-pin and mafia family As a young adult he joined a group advocating for an improvement in Gnomish conditions. Being a Shoemaker kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

Motivation: His spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion; and he possesses a valuable artifact that the thieves guild wishes to steal
